PLOS is pleased to welcome Professor Michael Malim as co-Editor in Chief of PLOS Pathogens as of December 2019. Having joined the PLOS Pathogens editorial board in 2004, and serving as a Section Editor for HIV and Retroviruses prior to this appointment, Mike’s expertise will be a great asset to the Pathogens community going forward. Every PLOS article is a collaboration. Each of our journals is supported by a dedicated Board of volunteer editors with specific knowledge in their field, as well as thousands of reviewers who dedicate their time and expertise to ensure the quality of everything we publish. Working in partnership with our passionate internal staff, we are transforming research communication so that anyone, anywhere can read, share, and reuse the latest scientific discoveries. Under John's direction, and by dint of the tireless and outstanding work of the Editorial Board, each of whom volunteer their time, PLoS Pathogenshas lived up to its stated goals of publishing “the highest quality work that embodies a significant advance across microbial pathogenesis.”.
